Iyo-Kasuri

Iyo-Kasuri, the splashed pattern cloth of Iyo,is a special product of Matsuyama,as one of the three major kasuri products,along with Kurume and Bingo-kasuri.
It was first woven by a woman named Kana Kagiya over 190 year ago using a loom developed by Shinsuke Kikuya.
The kasuri cloth,dyed in indigo,instills a simple and quiet feeling and is used not only for kimono,but also for dress,hats,and neckties.
