The crossing of "Fuda" was placed at the northern corner of western moat, where the mile stone (the starting point of measuring distance in the unit of "ri" (about four kilo-meters) of Matsuyama feudal domain, was set up. The bulletin board was placed at this crowed street to inform people in this territory of laws and ordinances. And complaints box was set up in this place, too.
The crossing of "Fuda" was located in the central part of Matsuyama Castle Town ; Hon-cho, and the distance was measured with this place as the starting point, from that Tosa Highway, Imabari Highway, Nakayama Road, Ohzu Road and the Inland Sea of Japan were started.
The beggars were used to concealed their face with a red cloth and made a tour of every door with a small bamboo stuck through with fern leaves in his hand to ask for rice cakes and goods.
