The tiles on a large number of houses are glittering just like the crest of waves. Matsuyama reorganized as a city in Dec. of 1889(Meiji 22) when the number of houses were 7,519 and the popuration were 32,916. The look of stores and houses on a street became a city of 10,000 houses.
