" The ginkgo tree in the temple Stands as if sweeping the stars- Frost at midnight " (Butsuryo Yoshino)
This haiku was composed by Hideharu Yoshino (haiku-penname Butsuryo), who was born in Wake-cho, nearby district and one of the disciples of Toyojo.
This haiku-monument was established on 27th October 1971, the previous day of the 8th anniversary of Toyojo's death and also to commemorate the establishment of the haiku monument "Migrating cranes - / Piercing through / The sunset clouds" by Toyojo on the same day in this temple.
