This haiku monument was erected celebrating the acceptance to the top page of the haiku magazine "Hototogisu" February 1949 issue.Kashi Tachibana: He, his real name is Kaoru Tachibana, worked for the village office of Ukena, Onsen-gun. He studied haiku under Kyoshi Takahama and had a role as a selector for haiku magazine "Kaki". (Kaki means persimmon.)
He established this monument when two of his haiku were selected to the top page of "Hototogisu".
This haiku monument was erected in 1956 Aug.
