"The soul of the nurse Makes the cherry blossoms milk-white Of this cherry tree " (Gyuho Ito)
The composer of this haiku is a priest from Chiba prefecture and the haiku monument was erected in April 1976.
The haiku is based on a legend of the cherry tree (uba-sakura) in the temple.
There is the other haiku monument erected in the same time in the precincts of the Temple that goes: Standing at sightly place / My eyes move over to / Spectacular cherry blossoms.
