Gino Shrine (Masaki Town, Iyo Province)



"Blown by  
    A gale in autumn   
         A crow alighted              
                           (Kyokudo)



This haiku appeared in haiku magazine "Cockscomb" and compiled in his haiku collection "kusahibari (means a grasshopper)".

The haiku monument was established on 23rd, April 1956 to commemorate the 225th anniversary of Sakubei Gino's death. Shiki and Kyoshi"s ones were also established at the same time in the precincts of Gino Shrine.
