The unveiling ceremony of this Haiku monument was taken place on 26th Nov. 1977(Showa 52), his birthday. This Haiku was composed in the regular meeting of "Izayoigin-sha" led by Shurindo(1893-1918), at his Haiku friend "Shiguregasa Kanamoto"'s home(Kawara-cho Matsuyama) at the age of 23, in 6th Nov. 1915(Taisho 4).
Since 15th Mar. 1911(Meiji 44), he took "Shurindo" as his haiku pen name, and took part in the first number of "Soun" edited by Seisensui Ogiwara. On May, same year. He organized "Izayoigin-sha" in Matsuyama, and developed the campain of free style haiku leading "Izayoigin-sha". He was expected as a young and spirited Haiku originator, but it was a pity that originator of free style haiku, Shurindo Nomura died young on 31th Oct. 1918(Taisho 7), because of the influenza spread worldwide, being deplored his unusual ability.
In Taisho era, he lived near Sanpouji-temple(26, 3-chome, Shotoujin-cho) in that his funeral was held and the mourning ceremony was held later by his pupil "Nansen Mori".
His family temple is "Tamon-in temple" at 5-5 2-chome Kosaka. Shurindo's monument lies Tamon-in temple", Matsuyama Jounan Highschool and 1-chome Takahama-cho beside this place.
Santoka Taneda followed Shurindo to Matsuyama in Oct. 1939(Showa 14) when had been after 22years from SHurindo's death, and ended his life in this place.
