The approach of Ishiteji Temple

"I'll pray to Kobo-taishi
Facing to the approach of Ishiteji Temple
Seeing the blossoming rice plant"

(Shiki)

This Haiku is appeared in the Haiku poetry of "Sansaku-shu" in that Shiki prefaced ;
"In the afternoon of Sept. 20th of 1895 (Meiji 28), I felt better than usual, so I tempted Rokudo (Kyokudo Yanagihara), who just visited to Gudabutsuan Hermitage, out to the bank of Ishite River via Tamagawa-cho (present Ichiban-cho) and turned to the direction of Ishiteji Temple."
Goken Maeda's Haiku monument is next to this monument.
